Some of you may have seen on QOL that a few regulars there have started a set of websites where we can place rare songs for you to download. The main page is below and also has a link to a master list page (67 songs) of our collection, plus links to all the other site in the webring. Mingo City is where we may have a poll for which songs to upload and where all news will appear, rather than on QOL as G has requested we don't post links on the official site. Go here to start downloading: galileo.spaceports.com/~mingle

I'm getting an error coming up here Ming on your site:
MPEG by Bitcasting: File Format cannot find MPEG file header. This may not be an MPEG file.

Thanks FD. I think I know what it is so I'll attempt to sort it.
I was hoping to have a bit of a sound file attached to this page, but I couldn't get it to work, although I saw no errors, but assume that others may experience problems depeneding what hardware / software they're using.
Letme know if you get the same error and what hardware / software you're using (i.e. PC / Mac / etc, and IE, Netscape / etc).

Evening Ming - if nothing went wrong, then the webring code on my site should now be working properly. I intend to add some more labels to the main table (file size etc.) but would it be alright if I kept the current colour scheme? Haven't messed about with HTML for too long.

Of course you can do what you like. It's your site. I won't dicate to you. My general query was about what others thought of a common theme for minlge_ mp3 was just and idea that only ogre and me seem to think is a good idea, :-) So be it.
I thought that it would make it easier for people to surf around reconginising the general theme of the connected webring member site.

Ta. I'll probably fall in line with the background colour, but keep the crap rainbow effect.
I've also found out that anyth@dh.8k.com does work as a forwarding address; it just takes 6 hours and filters as junk mail. Technology's great, innit.

Site update: Monkberry's latest (I Guess We're Falling Out) has now been added. Background colour also changed. The manual links can be taken off if you link, but I can't see much harm in 'em. galileo.spaceports.com/~dhp/P.S. - Just downloaded a couple from fd's site - those skips that appear in the audio are pretty annoying. Are you any closer to knowing why this happens, fd?

Which skips?
I was disapointed that Falling Out ends abruptly too. Or is that just my copy?

Not skips necessarily, but momentary drops in volume (talking in terms of milliseconds here) that spoil the experience a little. They seem to be on all tracks d/l'ed from fd's site: Nevermore, Feelings etc.
"Falling Out" ends quickly because it was of a medley, or so I thought.

Ah. Didn't know he'd put up 'Falling Out' as well - he had mentioned it and I'd agreed to put it up. I'll keep my copy up for the moment, now that I've spent an hour uploading it.

It's probably better if FD replaces 'Falling out' with something else as he's got a much faster connection (OK FD?)
Also DHP if you're playing an mp3 whilst still downloading or still online whilst uploading you will experience slight CPU dropouts as you PC might be pushed to the limit in playing a song and uploading 2hile your surfing. Try playing when offline.
Or it could be FD's upload speadd or how he's converted it from WAV to mp3 (if he did that at all?)
Otherwise I'm not sure what the problem is. being caused by. Maybe it's something we can't change.

One IM later, fd's doing exactly that. I've tried giving the mp3s full CPU attention - there's definitely a fault in them. It may be a result of the strange system of protection that BT use for their member sites (notice how the mp3s play automatically when clicked on, and how you can't View Source...) - the upload may have unintentionally caused it to be modified. Or it could be my shite modem, of course.

I noticed that BT made them automatically open Windows Media Player and I had to wait until they had downloaded b4 doing a Save As, BUT I've not noticed problems with other songs downloaded in the same way.
